Born in Greenwich Hospital in London. It’s not there any more, which is unrelated… I think. I become a big Micky Mouse fan.
I started at Lee C of E school in Lewisham. It is still there but has changed its name, which is also unrelated.
I get a part-time job working at the world famous Canterbury Cathedral in the Visitors Centre, which helped supplement my student loan for the next 2 years!
I admit, not as much studying as perhaps should have happened did happen in the preceding 3 years, but I did graduate (I had to retake one exam, hence the slightly delayed graduation date
Love Is In The Air
I meet my future Wife, Maria, who started working at the Cathedral at about the same time as I graduated Uni and started working there full time. I asked her out on one of my days off from work when i just happened to ‘drop by’ we went to Zizzis for our first date. I paid of course.
I don't seem to have any photos of me working, so here is a photo of me standing on Brighton pier. Your Welcome.
I get a job with a startup in the golf industry called HowDidiDo. I am a ‘Website Content Manager’ which essentially means I design and manage all the adverts for a site with almost half a million members. Big boy trousers time.
My role expands into new areas and projects, and I get to use my Media Studies and Film Studies background to grow the video content for the site as well as growing my design and photography skills.
King In The North!
Maria gets a job in Wetherby, Yorkshire. We pack up and move north. we spend 2 years living in Thirsk, but found it a bit too rural, so…
We buy our first house in Acomb, York. We had visited York in 2010, and said at the time that it would be a great place to live. and a few years later here we where.
Maria and I get married, finally after almost 10 years of being together. We take 3 weeks in Japan for our Honeymoon and we were instantly infatuated. Later that year we start learning Japanese… turns out it’s hard so we are still learning now!
Times They Are A Changing
The company merges with another one, meaning my job starts to change. they force me into a managers role, which is not for me. Time for a change…
The Here & Now
That pretty much brings us up to date, a man wearing many hats, Father, Husband, Business owner, Graphic Designer, Photographer, Goon, Child barely passing as an adult.
I have a lot of plans for moving forward. This year:
- I am hoping to open my own Nano Brewery (smaller than a microbrewery, bigger than a shed, since you ask)
- Take a course in sign painting
- Train to fly a drone commercially (that might have to wait until next year as it’s flippin’ expensive)
- Start selling my photography to the public.
- help my wife set up and grow her papercraft art business (Turn The Page Designs, Go Check It Out Here)
